Venlafaxine side effects

I’m not sure if I’m posting under the correct topic. But has anyone else suffered a lot with weight gain and increased body temp/sweating on Venlafaxine?
I’m on 300mg a day, have been for about 5 weeks now. Before that I was on 225mg for a couple of months.
I am 8 months postpartum and nothing in my diet has changed. But I’m heavier and flabbier now than I was at 3 months postpartum 😭
Is this a common side effect? Although the medication seems to be helping my mental health, I’ve been seriously considering asking to change due how hot, sweaty and disgustingly overweight I feel.

My mum was on venlafaxine and gained weight on it, it did start to come off again after a few months, she was on it for 20 years and has recently been switched a different medication

Thank you. Do you happen to know if the weight gain was due to her appetite increasing or just gaining weight randomly? As I don’t feel like I have a big appetite at all!
