Checking/confirming appointment with therapist

I see my therapist weekly at the same slot each week. They have been away on holiday for 3 weeks and in my last session told me the date they would be back. It feels like a long gap and I am wondering if it is okay to contact them to check that I am booked in as usual? I don't get appt reminders as i guess there is no need. The last session was quite a difficult one. We only make contact about changing appointments

Yea of course it’s ok. They don’t have to reply, and may not see it anyway, but yes you can email them to check. I wouldn’t phone them though when they are on AL

Thank you. I just feel that I am overstepping boundaries as they said the date of my next session/when they are back working but there is a niggle in my mind so want to check for peace of mind. I don't want to turn up and she is not there or there is an oversight

It's fine to check

I think its fine to check. I usually text my therapist to confirm if we're doing a different time or had a gap due to holidays. It's never been a problem. It's just as often him who texts to check times.
