Palpatations and citalopram

Just over two weeks in to taking this and the palpitations are pretty bad, including waking me in the night on occasion. Started about 1 week into taking the drug. Saying that, I have had palpatations previously in life when not on antidepressants. Anyone have any experience of this please?

Yes I had palpitations when I first started on citalopram, it's a long time ago but I think it was only during the first 4-6 weeks. I believe it listed as a side effect on the patient info leaflet. Any concerns though, do get checked over by your GP

I think I got the palpitations maybe once a week and I said I'd see how I got on. They did disappear, I was only on it for 3-4 months as I was in my phase on stopping medication as soon as there was any improvement!
