Venlafaxine - Insomnia

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any fellow venlafaxine takers here?

5 days into taking 37.5mg of venlafaxine and am having bad insomnia and struggling to get to sleep. Is this a side effect that passes after a few weeks 🤔

Oh that's interesting. I took it for about six weeks to get over a crisis, stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and feel loads better mood-wise but my sleep is utterly shot to pieces at the moment.
Not totally down to the venlafaxine but it has played a part. I was on 75 mg the whole time I was on it.
And I just literally had a conversation with a friend who's knowledgeable and who refused venlafaxine in favour of sertraline, and thinks the venlafaxine has contributed to my terrible sleep at the mo. Don't know if this is any help to you, just wanted to agree that it certainly seems like it could be negative for sleep.
