Has anyone on here been in a mental health facility for months? Not under section but for long term therapy.

Do you mean NHS or private OP?

I was in an NHS psychiatric hospital for over a year but that was a long time ago. I doubt that is even done these days with the shortage of NHS resources.

It would be NHS. Referred by my CMHT.

I'm not sure how helpful this is but I was an inpatient for 5-6 months, but under a S3. I've had 7 admissions but never been offered therapy in any of them, either NHS or private.

Incidentally the NHS hospitals were SO much better than the private ones.

Opposite to the previous poster, my private inpatient stays were a million times better than the first time I was in an NHS hospital, which offered no therapy and was just a holding cell.

I've had 3 long stays. They each saved me in different ways.
