Have you been through an adult autism assessment through the NHS?

Did you go through right to choose and if so who with?

Were you diagnosed?

How bad were you at the time? As in were you functioning?

I’m being referred and just trying to gauge what my chances are of a diagnosis. I’ve had symptoms all my life and I’m at the point where I need answers.

I’m posting this in chat and mental health for traffic.

Why do you think you might be autistic

Why do you think you might be autistic

Sensory issues from an early age. Intolerant to noise, clothes hurting/itching. Can’t stand being touched/hugged.

Social problems from an early age, struggled to cope at school, missed most of secondary school and had to go to special school
for year 11. Lots of suicide attempts due to struggling to cope with life.

Social problems as an adult, not understanding jokes/sarcasm. Taking things literally.

Having to mask in social situations by rehearsing conversations/copying peers.

Very rigid with routine, can’t stand interruptions.

Somewhat unusual interests where I can lose hours researching

I could go in but I’d be here all night
