Coming off sertraline

I have been on sertraline for over a year now, at 100mg once a day in the evenings.

I started it due to a mixture of post natal depression, work problems, a family bereavement and I think I just needed a little help to process everything and get back on track.

This last week I have realised I want to come off, and I am in a much better place mentally so feel in a position to do this. I spoke to my GP who gave me a weaning plan. I am now on 75mg.

Already I feel so different in a good way. I’m much less tired (normally I’d be in bed asleep by now!), I feel less “on edge”, and I just looked at myself in the mirror and I looked “glowy” and healthy for the first time in forever. I didn’t expect the change to be quite so quick, has anyone else noticed this?

This has really helped cement that starting to come off these anti depressants was the best thing I could do!

I was going to say, maybe you feel so good mentally because of the meds?

Doubtful, I’ve been on them so long and it’s only now I’m reducing I feel so good.
