Is anyone else suffering with panic attacks post partum? I’m almost 3 months postpartum and panic attacks are coming and going but I haven’t had one for weeks. I’ve got a smear test on 24th this month and I also suffer with health anxiety so Im already fearing the worst, not sure if this is why they’ve came back.
Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this I feel anxious day and night and the test feels so far away☹️

I’m so sorry you are going through this, I have postpartum anxiety and depression too and it’s awful. Have you reached out to your GP/HV for some support?

They’ve prescribed me citalopram and propranolol but the citalopram makes me feel drowsy and I’m a single parent so I need to be able to get up to do night feeds etc and aswell as having health anxiety it makes it worse. I’ve reached out to the gp to start CBT again and hopefully they ring me tomorrow

Well done on reaching out! Hopefully the Citalopram will help you very soon. Support groups are also really good as you feel less alone, you could ask your HV if there are any in your area, I am part of the cedar house support group which is online and it’s been such a support to me. Hope you feel much better soon, you aren’t alone x

I'm sorry you're feeling like this this, I had quite severe post partum anxiety after my second.

Check out if there are any specific perinatal mental health services in your local area, they'll usually see people up to 12 months postpartum and they might be able to offer therapy. You can also request a medication review if the citalopram side effects are too much, you might get on better with a different medication. You are not alone.

I might try support groups I just want to feel normal it’s like I’m constantly waiting to go in another panic attack and it’s taking over my life xx
