Health anxiety - help and advice needed

I’ve had health anxiety for years and largely just ignored it….since having my little girl it seems to be spiralling more and related mostly to worrying about her. It’s got to a point where I have considered paying privately to have her looked at to reassure myself that everything is okay.

I’ve just referred myself to Talking Therapies because it really is starting to become unmanageable.

I had some concerns about her when she was maybe two months old and it’s been hanging over me ever since. I am always googling, searching on TikTok and on forums and I just can’t let it continue to take over my mental space any more.

looking for positive stories of other people who have successfully managed health anxiety to give me some hope that it will become easier. And also, how you managed it!!!!

Thankyou 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It is possible to resolve all types of anxiety - the best way is to look at when, and more importantly, why it started. The thing with anxiety is that it's trying to tell you something, so if you ignore it it will simply talk louder and louder until it's the only thing you can hear.

Now the 'something' it's fussing about may not be important or relevant but - like a child screaming for their mother because the monster under the bed is going to get them - you do need to acknowledge it, listen to it and then gently invalidate it with adult logic.
