Husband concerns

I'm really putting this here to try and get some perspective
I have been married a Lon time and we are really more like friends now.
My husband has really changed over the past year.

Work- this is clearly not going well for him he had a very prestigious job but it's slowly emerged that the has been very much sidelined and he is definitely struggling with this. Only told me this had happened after a terrible weekend of him crying which is entirely out of character
Family- our kids are adults and although we do see them very often it really is when it fits in with their declines- I'm glad about this but I think he really misses that whole family together vibe.
Responsibilities- my mum is v elderly and we do see her at weekends a lot which can be a real downer
Me- I think I'm probably not as supportive as I could/ should be partly because I think he's very ashamed of the work situation and doesn't want to fully confide.
Friend s- we have really relied on a two friendship couples but this has all gone wrong over the past two years. This means we are often left with not much of a social life
His political views/ these have become quite awful ( in my opinion) and I find it hard not to argue.
We are ok financially not rich not poor.
I think he's depressed but he will not consider going to the gp.
I am finding it all very difficult and I'm also looking after a grandchild two days a week which I'm finding exhausting

You can't support him well if he won't tell you what's going on.
