Can anyone recommend a really good book for overthinking?

I have always been an overthinker and I am just starting to realise this is the main reason why I struggle with my mental health at times.

Maybe better to get in to a really good fiction book that has bugger all to do with mental health and thinking, and instead just allows you to enjoy the story and switch off from over thinking?!

Ruminating is often a symptom of depression. The only thing I found that works is some planned things to think about - for me it’s exercise related so my plan for the week or up to next running race or fitness competition. As soon as I start to think about something too much, I ask myself is this thinking actually helping me and if it’s rumination in any way then I skip my mind on.

The body keeps the score is a good book.

What do you define as overthinking? We all think all the time - sometimes superficial thoughts, sometimes a deep dive or a prolonged analysis.

Going through similar. I have to really remind myself of nice stuff I want to think about. I’ve pinned a note to my mirror that says’garden! ‘ so I force myself to think about planting peas, looking up weeds etc.
hope this helps.xxx
