Always feeling lonely

I’m not sure if it’s just me…hi, first post here!
I’ve been feeling so isolated and lonely lately. My partner works a lot with no set finish time, could be 4pm or 11pm. I have no friends, just people who only ever speak to me when they’re having a bad time. No meet ups, coffee dates etc. my family are mostly toxic or only contact me if they want something.
I don’t have any hobbies, I used to own my own horses but have had to give that up due to health issues. I’ve tried to join local groups and they seem so clicky, only if your face fits sort of thing.
Cornwall, UK!
any ideas on what to do!?

I’ve heard Bumble bff is good for making friends, I haven’t tried it yet but that’s my plan!
You are not alone in feeling lonely, I think so many people feel the same now. What has happened to us all :(

And by the way, summer feels like the loneliest time of the year

Do you have children OP? Only asking because I find it so much easier to make friends when it relates to the kids than just on my own

I tried that but it was no use down in Cornwall :( such a horrible position to be in! My poor partner must think I chew her ears off when she gets home as most days it’s the only conversation I get!

Ah ok! In my area there's a Facebook page, with lots of different chats for nights out, days out, meet ups, anything really. Is there anything like this near you? Or could you possibly set one up? There's always loads of things going on on there

OhSoAsd · 20/05/2025 22:47

I wish I had the courage to set something up. It’s hard living in Cornwall as it’s very clicky with the mums and groups etc. I’ve seen a few things and commented about attending but have never had a response

Part time. But I don’t drink so not really involved/invited in out of work friendships as it’s based around alcohol.

you can still go at the start and get to know them, socialise.

not all of them will drink
and not all will drink to excess
you could find a friend
