Citalopram please help

prescribed Citalopram 10mg 4 weeks ago then 2.5 weeks ago increased to 20mg. I feel it has helped the depression but my anxiety is still really bad. How long did it take to for you please and at what dose

I'm on Citalopram 20mg and found it helped my mood a few weeks before it helped the anxiety.

Sertraline maybe more beneficial to you

Is it worth swapping now or give Citalopram longer to work I just feel so unwell at the moment

It took about three months for it to work for me, and I went from 10mg to 20mg to 40mg in that time. It’s been 10-plus years and I’m still on 40mg, just to keep me on an even keel.
Some people seem to have significant results (or side effects) even on a low dose, others not.

My GP has upped me to 30mg today. It’s awful they take so long to work when you feel so unwell. I was on Paroxetine previously but they stopped working unfortunately

Mine only seemed effective on 40mgs

How long did you give each dose increase to work before upping again

Mine must have been six or eight weeks.
40mg is the max dose. I wonder if it’s relevant that I am quite big though - as in a big frame and overweight. A smaller dose might be more effective for a smaller person!
