Any advice on how to support a BPD adult child and get help for the family to cope with the situation?

Assuming BPD to stand for Borderline Personality Disorder (sometimes people use it for Bipolar) it will depend a bit on the training the nurse has had, they might use a structured clinical management or dialectical behaviour therapy type approach to help your DD. Either way the focus should be on learning healthy ways to manage strong emotions, thinking about and working towards goals and working together to improve quality of life.
