Thomas Kingston’s tragic suicide

I am not normally interested in celebrities or the Royals but I found the story sad.

Today the Mail reports his company was struggling, and Inhave no idea if that played a factor or not. However, I suspect for many people who are depressed, money issues are a big factor. The stress of not knowing how you will pay your bills and the shame of what others will think and say.

WTF is the point of this thread?!

As someone who has been actively suicidal I can say, even though I was skint, money worries had absolutely nothing to do with the suicide I was planning. I was depressed and needed to stop the endless pain and misery, it is a horrible existence. I also genuinely had reached the point where I thought DH and DC would be better off without me.

Does that help your ponderings at all?

The point of the thread is fairly obvious. But to turn around your opening line, WTF is the point of having a go at the op?!

As someone who has also been actively suicidal, plenty of people commit suicide because of money worries. Just because I didn't have that reason doesn't mean other people aren't driven by external forces like money and as a human with empathy that's not particularly difficult for me to understand. 😵‍💫

Does that help you understand other people at all?

@Tonnnnnn Yes money worries can be a huge factor in people's mental health, there were a lot of examples from the last recession. Very sad all round.

I think when your social circles consist of extremely wealthy people that must factor into it too, it must feel very public.

Is he the one who was also taking some medication that has been linked to suicides in the past?
