Hey, how do you know when it's a good time to taper? I've been on sertraline for nearly 16 months now. Was on 50mg then 100mg.
It was for health anxiety after having my daughter (my own health) I kept worrying things were wrong and I had a fixation on physical symptoms around breathing. I couldn't stop focusing on it and felt I wasn't breathing 'right' which made me panic and made it worse.
Sometimes I feel a bit odd but my reaction has been completely different to what it was pre sertraline and I try and move on and focus on other things ☺️
However, I'm scared of these anxious physical symptoms coming back if I come off. Its so hard to know if you're feeling better because you're mentally doing better or if it's from the meds.

If you have been feeling well for a long period of time and would like to try to come off then you could discuss the idea with your doctor. If you do decide to try coming off i would suggest do it as slowly as possible, often the tapering suggested by the doctor is quite quick and slower is more likely to work and cause less side effects.
