Can anyone shed any light?
mumma of 2. I work full time civil service but off on long term sick.
I suffer with extreme mental health and I have a herniated disc.
started claiming pip, was awarded in oct 2023. LWR for 2 years.
Was over the moon as it would help pay for taxis to work / therapy.
My mental health has declined, I have been diagnosed with chronic OCD with panic, anankastic traits, generalized anxiety disorder and getting assessed for autism.
I have an occupational therapist, I see a psychiatrist / psychologist weekly and prescribed anti psychotics amongst other things.
no improvement yet though. None of this was on my first claim.
(I have extreme intrusive thoughts and delusions, can't bare germs etc, insomnia - only general anaesthetic can't put me to sleep - too long to explain).
I called pip for a change in circumstances as I was deliberating it for months, as I didn't want to loose my current claim but thought I have nothing to loose as my claim was only 2 years.
now I'm over thinking I've done the wrong thing and I'm going to loose my claim all together, the extra money helps as I can't leave the house so I get shopping delivered, even milk via uber eats which is a lot more expensive. My monthly prescription cost is expensive, if I'm to leave I have to get a taxi due to pain when walking / can't walk on paths due to the risk of harm etc. The additional cost of extra therapy and acupuncture is also very expensive, I'm just too worried I'm going to loose it all.
i have read it's all changed for mental health conditions and pip benefits for this will be scrapped.
Has anyone else kept their claim for this?
I would much rather be 'normal' wake up care free, wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. ive been like it my whole life but up until a few years ago I found out about pip payments to help with the costs that comes with it.
thank you for reading.
