Sertraline side effects

Looking for some positive stories about sertraline. Been taking 50mg now for four weeks. Initial side effects included diarrhea, feeling sick and increased anxiety. All of these have now subsided but now I feel quite depressed. No motivation for work or activities and just a general feeling of "what's the point". Has anyone else felt like this? I have heard there can be emotional blunting. Is this what it is? And will this subside too?
I love that my anxiety is finally under control but don't want to feel like this either.

Also I seem to be suffering from extreme fatigue. Really struggling to get up in the morning, I'm tired all day and generally sleeping around 9-10 hours each night. Is this to be expected too and will this subside?

Sorry you are feeling like that. I have been on 100mg for a year now, very lucky that I have had no side effects and I could feel the benefits very quickly.
I started on 50mg for a couple of months and then my GP upped it to 100mg.
Definitely speak to your GP about it,but for me it's been absolutely amazing, I wish I had been prescribed it years ago, it's one of the best things I've ever done in terms of how much it's impacted me and made me feel better and more "normal" again.

I had to stop mine after 10 weeks. I had constant diarrhoea and made me even more anxious. I gave it the 8 weeks my gp said to give, then agreed to stop. However I am the minority and for most it works really well.

Thanks both, I'm going to stick it out at least for 8 weeks and fingers crossed everything subsides.
