Sertraline increase

Has anyone been on Sertraline and if so had it increased from 100mg to 150mgs? I'm wondering how soon you started to feel better. 100mgs didn't do anything for me but had it increased a few days ago and desperate to feel better.

It takes me a couple of weeks to feel an improvement when I increase sertraline.

I recently went up to 150mg from 100. The 100 took 6 weeks to make any difference at all - been on 150 a month and the last week has been significantly better.

Ah thank you for your reply. Can I ask what dose you're on? The thing is I've only been on the increased dose a few days but I'm half thinking I feel a bit better, not really as in less depressed but more that my brain feels more floaty and not concentrating on depressing thoughts if you know what I mean lol. But not sure if I'm imagining it with it being so soon.

Thanks, id been on 100 for a few months and it did nothing for me but I'm hopeful about the increase. I don't think they quite know what to do with me ☹️

Dont lose hope. There are alternatives if sertraline is not working - I know how you feel though, I thought it wasnt working for me for ages - and then it did, I would say its not a magic pill though - I still get anxious more than regular people - its just toned down now.

Are there specific things causing you to feel this way in your life e.g circumstances or is it
the thoughts? The worrying thoughts consumed me when I was at my worst and I never thought I would feel better but now I do so just remember you will feel better.

I am on 200mg. I actually think I might need a new AD now because I am quite unwell at the moment despite the sertraline and my antipsychotic.

It's the awful thoughts, feeling of doom and anxiety, not really anything in particular that has happened although saying that there's always something that doesn't help isn't there. Thank you for your kind words, I'm hanging onto hope x

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. It's horrible isn't it. Have you got any appointments coming up where you can ask about a change? x

Anxiety is AWFUL. I know how you feel. It’s just a terrible thing to live with. I hope the benefits of medication start to help

Thank you carrots, it really is the worst, even worse than depression I often think because it takes over your whole body and mind. I'm sorry you suffer too. Can I ask if you're on meds? No need to answer if you don't want to x

Yes. Just changed from sertraline to citalopram as my anxiety has ramped up and I wasn’t managing it at all. Was on 100 sertraline and dr and I both felt a different med might be better

sertraline helped for a long time with daily anxiety but during this current stressful period I’m going through my panic and anxiety has broken through. Hoping the citalopram will work. Started just a few days ago x

I think a change can often do the trick to kickstart feeling better. I'm opposite to you, was on Citalopram quite successfully for a few years but changed to Sertraline a few months ago as I've been in an awful slump of depression and chronic anxiety for quite a while. I hope Citalopram works for you, as I say I found it pretty good for a long time but psychiatrist decided on a change x

How are you getting on with Citalopram @carrotsandtomatoes ?

Are you feeling better with your Sertraline increase @user1492538376 ? It's only been a week for me so too early to tell. Felt horribly anxious yesterday but not too bad today.
I hope you're ok @Scutterbug any luck with seeing the psychiatrist?
Hope everyone is doing reasonably ok x
