Hi everyone.
I lost my job , a few months ago , and it has had a major impact on myself, immediate family, and finances.
I had been at this place of work for a long time , and now I'm living on benefits, in order to pay my bills. I dont leave the house now , and I wish I didnt wake up , every morning. My day involves job searching, and that is it. It just feels like an existence, not a life. I cant manage on Jobseekers, and my car will soon have to go.
Does anyone have any ideas, that iv missed.?

At this point you need to apply for anything... Even things you would not ever consider ie .... Cleaner, porter etc... you can then look for your ideal job when you have some income coming in...

I'm really sorry that you're struggling. Have you been to the GP for your mental health? They can help you with that aspect, you don't have to struggle alone.
Are you claiming UC? You should be eligible for that. Citizen's Advice will be able to help you apply if you need support.
I don't know what sector of work you're in, but could you sign up to a staffing agency, even if it's for a job you wouldn't have done previously? Once you're back in some form of work it will be easier to find a job in the realm of what you're doing before.

How much do you need to break even, rent/mortgage, food, bills?

Care work in one place eg Care Home? There is usually a good chance of getting this type of work.

GP for mental health stuff.

Get out of the house and walk up the road and back everyday.

Make a schedule for yourself eg 7am get up, coffee, shower, walk up the road, breakfast, tidy up until 9am, job search until 9.45, for 15 minutes get up and move, walk upstairs etc, 10am start again, a literal schedule like that.

Can you walk to a library and use your phone there to do some job searching too? You might find it easier out of the house.

Cancel things you can pick up again later eg Netflix, things like that.

Look on the MoneySavingExpert website for tons of advice.

What kind of work are you looking for?

I hope you feel brighter soon

Be kind to yourself

I’ve been in your shoes and I can advise to keep trying. It feels bad to get a rejection but one day you will get a job and get back on your feet. Try not to focus on feeling down. Get some gentle exercise every day. Best wishes 💐
