I just need a bit of a hand hold.
4 weeks ago I started taking Citalopram, 20mg.
I was lucky in that I didn’t experience any side effects whatsoever, but my low mood hasn’t improved at all.
So my GP increased my dose to 30mg and I have started feeling worse. Very low mood (worse than originally). I know this can happen when taking ADs, and that it will pass, but I am really struggling with it.

Just to clarify, I’m not suicidal or anything, so please don’t worry. Just feeling very low.

As you said, this is very normal, and should pass in no more than six weeks. Keep in touch with the GP, and look after yourself as best you can until you're out the other end. It should get better!

Thanks for your reply @UncannyNanny
I am getting impatient with waiting for it to get better, but I trust that it will.

Hello there yes I have a similar problem with starting sertraline as just started two weeks ago and now feel very tearful and isolated. Yeah people say go out for a walk but when your in that place, you just want to sit and feel cosy at home. My mind keeps thinking of negative things so I feel I will never be well again.
