Restarting ssri

Hey...
Has anyone managed to restart ssri's without terrible effects the first few weeks?
I'd like to restart after about 10 years as my ocd is playing up. But I don't want it to impact my parenting the first few weeks :(
I am very worried about going back on as it's been so long but I know they really helped.

Last time I went on I didn't eat or sleep for the first few weeks.

Thanks in advance :)

I restarted citalopram after coming off for pregnancy, and I didn't have any of the side effects I had first time round, although I'd only been off for a year. What are you starting? I'm switching from citalopram to fluoxetine tomorrow and dreading it

Hey.. It's actually citalopram for me too.
I hope the switch goes well for you.

Did you feel better once on citalopram again? I feel quite conflicted about it as I do cope without it but I have my moments when my anxiety can play up.

Yes I wasn't allowed to take them when pregnant and I stayed off until maybe 2 month after my son was born and realised I has post natal depression and anxiety. I started back on at just 10mg (previously on 40mg) and they started working pretty much straight away, no side effects. I managed on just the 10mg for about a year before increasing them
