Would a therapist have to disclose?

I have been seeing a counsellor for a few months now. We have been delving into childhood and I have been holding back and really struggling with some of it in the room.

I witnessed one instance of DV as a young teenager. If I told my therapist, would she likely have to take it further? She works for an organisation and shortly after I started sessions she spoke to her supervisor with regards to something that I mentioned about one of my kids that was flagging a possible mental health issue, so I am wary. Both my parents are still around.

I remember as a child actually mentioning it to a teacher but, other than the teacher offering for someone to speak to me (I declined), nothing else happened. This was in the 1990s.

Seems extremely unlikely. The only possible reason she would take it further is if someone was in danger now and even then she should discuss it with you first.
