Anxiety and Work

Hi, I am currently staying at home and not working due to Generalised Anxiety Disorder.
Fortunately we are ok for money but I would like to be able to get back into some part time work again but struggling to know what.

I have a tendency to apply for roles that are fairly basic salary, I have the capability to do much more and have had better jobs in the past but I always seem to get overwhelmed with the responsibility and extra expectations.

I also seem to aim lower because I fear rejection and have had a few rejections due lack of confidence.

Any tips on how to deal with this better?

My most recent role has been teaching assistant but prior to working in schools I did admin based work.

I think I have always had issues like this but it has grown worse in recent years due to perimenopause. I'm 40s.

Tia

I'm the same OP. I'm very qualified and have been on £100k plus before. However I get too stressed and anxious and am currently a TA earning £16k a year

Have a look at some of the resources on here, or maybe consider some career coaching to help you find something that does what you want, ie meaning and purpose and using your skills without pressure and responsibility.

I saw these ladies talk at a conference and they made a lot of sense.
