Your experiences of weaning off sertraline

I was on sertraline for 6 months following the birth of my DD as I had terrible PND. I then decided to come off cold turkey which resulted in a breakdown and going swiftly back on it. I’m on 50mg a day and have been for 15 months now.

However I have found that I feel completely empty now. I feel nothing, totally numb. I really want to find a way back to my mental state pre-DD and plan to speak to the GP before attempting this time.

What are your experiences? Was it difficult? Did you succeed the first time? Were there any awful side effects?

Thanks!

I was on 150mg and tapered off as it stopped working I can't recall anything negative about coming off it unfortunately due to my own circumstances I ended up on fluexotine 60mg.
Hopefully you manage to taper off without any nasty consequences.

personally haven’t had massive issues coming off of; but what I did was reduce the dose from one tablet to a half per day for around a month - 6 weeks and then did a half every other day for another month. And then when I stopped it didn’t seem too bad. I am a bit stripier than before but like you I was beginning to feel no emotion at all and I didn’t like that.

Stripier = stroppier
