Why would this happen besides a change in medication or anxiety? Any remedies.

Is it difficulty getting to sleep or staying asleep? It was hormones with me but is an ongoing problem. I also suspect my husband disturbs my sleep ( not intentionally).

I’d be looking at what is causing anxiety in your life.
Id be looking at your age, as perimenopause is a time for anxiety.
Id be stopping alcohol, no screens in the bedroom, and I’d be starting a regular, low stress bedtime routine. And try magnesium glycinate before bed.

Have there been any changes ln the way you eat? That can sometimes have an effect for me?

The most helpful thing is anything that helps you remain relaxed while awake. Don't focus on the imperative of getting to sleep. Our bodies can handle short rations of sleep if it only goes on for several days, after which (for me, at any rate) one relatively good night's sleep often kicks in to make up for it.

Could you use BBC Sounds (or similar) with headphones? Anything that prevents insomnia from becoming a cue for falling into horrible depressed or anxious ruminations.
