I get terrible attacks. I want to deal with it but often struggle to identify why exactly I am feeling anxious. Any one else get this? Any advice?

When do the atacks happen - is there a particular time or place when it happens?

What is going through your mind when the atacks start / once they start?

It's really common, sometimes the reason behind the attacks starting is harder to pinpoint.

You don't need to know what causes them just how to stop them escalating to get relief from them.

hello - ive had this, still have this, dont have attacks per se (well have had some since been on meds - so know how they feel). Its very common, i am on ADs for mine as i was depressed too, well the anxiety made me depressed. I think you should go along to your doctors and ask for some counselling to help highlight what the problem might be.

There are some good online anxiety resources to - sorry, you'll have to google, or ssssshhhh dont tell anyone, but have a look over on netmums it has loads of links (sorry mnet, i was on there today for first time and it looked quite good ). There are online questionaires you can do to identify certain factors. It might help if you can talk about things in RL, your doctor or HV is a good place to start. They wont suggest ADs unless they think you will benefit, they certainly kept mine in check, but of course they are not a cure.

What is it that you worry about when you are anxious, or is it just a physical manifestation?

Thanks - I will look up the links.

It is usually night time that is the worst - just before bed. There is a lot of stress in our lives right now - money worries, I am a new mum, I can't get a job, my DH is needing to get a new job but no joy so far and he is very unhappy etc but on the other hand we do have a roof over our head and our health and a beautiful baby

At night I tend to worry about the next day, how much sleep I am going to get and how much I have eaten verses how little exercise I have had although I think the food worry is probably a mask for something else as I have had food issues in the past. Gosh even writing this stuff down is making me feel anxious. I am mental!

Stefka no you are not mental we all have issues which when we are stressed crop back up. Sometimes writing stuff down can help.

I found Living life to the full which is a free CBT course has helped me it may be worth looking at
