Getting help from GP

I would like some encouragement if possible either from GPs or someone with similar experiences. I have PTSD that I need help with. My flashbacks are so frequent at the moment. I’m finding them quite disabling but I’m worried if I seek help from GP I’ll have a flashback whilst I’m there and they’re terrifying and embarrassing in front of others. Is GP the right person to speak to. They seem like a nice person.

GP would be the place to start. If you are worried about triggering a flashback while you are there, would it help to write down what you need to tell the GP and hand it over for them to read? Good luck

That’s a good idea thank you. I hate going to gp as I feel a burden and I know their appointments are time limited and that if I have a flashback there not only will I be really embarrassed but they last so long for me to get back to being able to move etc again. So now I’m building it up even more
