What would you do?

Hi, I have my first 3-month-old baby girl who I love to bits! But I really am struggling and was just wondering what you would do in this situation?

I'm on maternity leave looking after my baba and 2x dogs. When my girl cries, it feels so traumatic, it hurts me. There are days when I'm stressed and feeling helpless. My own mum has passed away so I have no guidance from above. After a whole day of bearing it, I'm worn out but if I call my partner at work, then he will be unhappy. This is added pressure. Who do I go to? What do I do?

I'm quite an introvert - I've tried to attend a mum's group but its just not for me. Are there any other options?

If you are feeling overwhelmed and emotional and generally struggling it may be helpful to get some support as this time.

I’d book for an assessment with your local talking therapy service. As you are classed as perinatal you will be seen quicker and should prioritised for assessment and treatment.

In the meantime try to get out for short periods of time, walks, being around others. But some days if all you both do is breathe and eat then that is ok too.
