Sertraline success stories

Not sure why I'm posting really, just need some reassurance that this will work. I was put on sertraline in 2019 for peri-natal depression and anxiety, it worked great. This year I tapered off and it's come back so restarted sertraline 50mg now 100mg. Can't shift the underlying anxiety and feeling really disheartened and apathetic. Has anyone restarted and it worked just as well? How long did it take? All good experiences please 🙏🏼

No restarted but I was on citalopram for nearly 3 years but had a bad mental health crisis in November. I was on the highest dose of citalopram so was changed to sertraline, I can't believe the difference it has made. First few weeks were tough but I increased from 100mg to 150mg and feel the best I have felt for a long time.

Hi can I ask why you came off it OP? I've been on it a few years and it doesn't feel as effective so was wondering about coming off.

That's good to know, thank you! And glad it's working well for you. How long before you upped to 150mg?

@ADCL2018 I was on 100mg for 3 weeks before it was upped to 150mg. I felt better within a couple of days and my moods seem to have stabilised. So just keeping everything crossed it continues!!

Honestly, I was well for so long I assumed I didn't need it anymore. I was on 100mg for about 18 months, then 50mg for about 3 years before slowly reducing to 25mg over the summer and stopped end of Sept. Back on 50mg from mid November due to spiralling with anxiety.**

Restarted after ds born, just had dosage upped to 150 mg (DS is 7 so it's been a while back on it anyway) but it made a noticeable difference within a couple of weeks

Thanks for the reply, good to hear it's working again. I've been back on for 6 weeks, now 100mg after 2 weeks at 50mg. Feeling better than I was but still have a way to go and I didn't think it took this long the first time.
