Day 5 of absolutely crippling anxiety ..

Week 6 of citalopram I think I'm feeling worse as the weeks go on.

I felt the best I ever felt last night as I had taken 2 2mg of diazepam yesterday.. felt so "normal"

Yet woke this morning so anxious and down and I can't live like this :(

Can you get some magnesium? It helps with anxiety.

Also get a good multivitamin and vitamin D. Cut down on caffeine and alcohol. Try to get some exercise every day, even if it's walking to the end of the road.

You might find journalling helps. Get an A4 pad and just write down all your thoughts.

If you're not seeing a therapist, Anxiety UK do reasonably priced therapy.

Try to overhaul your diet: lots of vegetables, fruit and good nutritious food.

Hi, I didn't want to read and run because I know exactly how you feel and it's the most lonely scary feeling. https://howwefeel.org/get is an app for your phone and it's honestly the only thing that's brought me back to normal enough to function. The breath work tools are the only ones I've found help for me. I also use the following video when I find it swelling into the overwhelming panic attack stage sometimes I've listened to it on repeat until my adrenaline ebbs enough to fall asleep. 40mg propranolol 3x a day is standard for me at the moment and I'm having a hellish time trying to secure a gp appointment to discuss options. I hope you manage to find some calm today ill come and check back in soon, I hope this helps in the mean time

Download the How We Feel app

Do be aware that we naturally get a surge of cortisol first thing in the morning to help us 'get going' so it is completely normal to feel (a little) anxious when you wake up.

Can you pinpoint exactly what you feel anxious about? Taking the exact thoughts out of your head and seeing them in black and white (on paper rather than a screen/phone) can help your rational mind decide if there's any to be concerned about.

Finally this video might help;

If you’re getting Magnesium as PP suggested, be aware that there are loads of different types of magnesium. There’s glycinate, citrate, malate etc. You need glycinate for sleep and anxiety. or Nutrition Geeks do a blend of the above 3 which is really good. Xx

I'm doing really good I've had my first full positive cheerful progressive motivated day! Hopefully that gives you some hope that this will pass considering how much I had to use the YouTube video on repeat a week ago.

MrsBrown24 · 19/12/2024 08:29

@Shatandfattered that's really good to hear! What medication are you on if you don't mind me asking xx

I'm literally just off the phone to the GP and I've chosen to try sertraline again instead of mirtrazipine which she first offered as I've been on it before and I was extremely angry in the morning and my weight gain was harsh! So I will have sertraline, 40mg propranolol x3, zopiclone for a temporary period and I'm also prescribed cocodamol and amitriptyline for migraine/cluster headaches so quite a cocktail going on

hk1993x · 21/12/2024 00:45

How are you OP xx
