help i’m addicted to porn

hiya i’m 23 and i come from a strict muslim family

this is quite difficult for me but, i’ve been addicted to porn since i was 12 years old so just over 10 years. i’ve had periods where i’ve stopped but i still go back to porn.

only recently i plucked up enough courage to inform my local trust of my addiction they told me most people watch porn and it’s normal. it did make me feel quite neglected.

my addiction has grown so much that i’m embarrassed to admit what porn i watch.

i find it drains my energy so much.

does anyone have any tips, advice or where i should go? 😞

You can make an appointment to speak with your GP about this, they will conduct an assessment and they can refer you for therapy if they feel you need it. The only thing is the waiting list will be huge and you could be waiting months if not years to get to the top. Private therapy is probably your best option, you can look online to find one close to you and some do specialise in porn addiction so look out for those.

thank you, the NHS times are awful; it’s odd for them to tell me watching porn is normal when i tried with the NHS. it’s probably best to go private but i don’t have the funds it will have to wait

I hope you find what you are looking for and appreciate that being from a Muslim family I can imagine it is very hard to find someone to confide in.

I I’m also a Porn addict and starting watching it is the biggest mistake I ever made and I used to smoke porn is do much more addictive I started at 9 years old don’t start it ruins relationships
