Sertraline side effects

Hi guys!
I don’t like it but I have to present myself as experiencing some anxiety episodes. Due to this I ve decided with the doctor to start taking 50mg of sertraline daily for a month even though it was not so necessary I wasn t aware of the potential harm this drug may cause. I only took 2 days, and started having lots of side effects: naussea, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, palpitations, extreme nervousness, lost of apetite, feeling really weak, burning feeling all over my body… It’s been almost 6 days and still not gone. I ve been already to hospital 5 times, everything seems to look fine. But nothing improves..
Any thoughts on this? Thank you!

I confess that I only took it for three days before I gave up.... I felt so much better once I stopped taking it.

I went back to my GP. My medication is now Diazepam, 2mg to be taken once a day when feeling overwhelmed.

I know that other people do well with Sertraline, however.

Ideally your doctor should've started you on 25mg. Then a follow up after a few weeks and then up to 50mg. Whilst I don't think the 25mg is seen to make much difference it is a stepping stone to minimise the side effects. Building up the dose gradually. But from what I've seen the approach seems to vary with regard to starting on 25mg vs 50mg. I think part of that is due to appointment shortages etc.

I forgot to mention that I completely stopped the sertraline. Took 2 doses, 2 days, 50mg a day. Thats it. Thats why I was concerned why the side effects are not going away…

there was an initial fortnight in which I felt bloody awful but then it eased up and by a month I felt good.
