Hi,
I've got a long history of anxiety, obsessive thought patterns, PND, and generally not great mental health. I've always managed to hold down a professional job and maintain friendships and relationships but I find life really 'noisy' and hard.

I've had a few periods of therapy in the past (psychoanalytic/psychodynamic, CBT). It has worked in certain specific areas but generally just taken the edge off. Since I had my last kid I tried some therapy to try get over my constant 'thinking' but it's not really gone well despite me being very engaged in it. The therapist has now suggested I try Brainspotting as hes trained in it. I'm going to ask her specifically how he thinks it would help me but has anyone got any experience? It seems like it's mainly for PTSD and it doesn't seem particularly evidence based.

Just had a quick search and it seems very like EMDR, just a bit more...controversial.

"Where you look affects how you feel". Umm.
