Referral to the Breast Clinic

Hi

I went to the GP as I have a lump in my breast (possibly on both sides) but the Gp didn't check. He checked the one breast and then said about referring me to the breast clinic. He said it felt like a 'lateral discrete mobile lump' (not sure if that anything to worry about). I did ask if he thought it was anything to worry about and he said he's not overly concerned but then they wouldn't say anyway. So now I'm convinced I'm going to die and petrified of leaving my kids Confused. I've been to the breast clinic before but I just feel like this is going to be something different. Anyone got any advice at all

It's normal to be scared by a breast clinic referral but it may well turn out to be nothing. I've had countless trips to breast clinic over the years because I'm prone to cysts. They're described as mobile. I'm not saying that's what you've got. I'm just saying try to keep calm. Whatever the outcome, you're taking positive action now. You've seen the GP. You've got a referral. You're in the system. You're doing all the right things. Just keep focusing on that and try to block out the "what ifs" and the spiralling thoughts.
