PND - should I take the meds?

My moods have been constantly yoyo-ing since DD was born (now 7 months) due to feeding and sleep related stress. Since the 4 month sleep regression she has never managed to link sleep cycles so she naps terribly and wakes at least every 2 hrs at night and wants feeding back down. I'm so sleep deprived. DP is off work on Mondays for the rest of the year and I always seem to be ok on the weekends, but I really struggle with DD on my own. It's like she knows to be more cranky and nap less on those days. The GP prescribed sertraline based on a minimal conversation with me, and I don't know whether to take them as I don't like the idea of having to stay on them for 6 months. We are currently trying to cut out dairy for suspected CMPA so I need to BF, and I don't like that it will pass through my milk. I also worry about the potential short term increase in anxiety and that DD might be sleeping by the time they start working. We're working with a sleep consultant but the progress feels slow. Should I wait it out to see if the sleep gets better? Or just get on with the meds?

I've started taking sertraline for anxiety related issues and can't say I've had any bad results from them. I feel a whole lot more relaxed after a few weeks, back to my normal self. My anxiety started after my second born and never seemed to shift (he's 3 now)

Also if she's waking every two hours I don't think that will reduce drastically straight away it might take a little while
