Escitalopram- again

Hi:) . Looks like I have to start with escitalopram again, but read that several people experience little to no effect when they start again, even if the effect was good the first time. :/ Does anyone have experience with starting medicine again?

I took it due to perimenopausal anxiety, and stopped it when it seemed the HRT was working. However, I quickly realised I need HRT and AD’s. It was no biggie starting escitalopram again, I quickly noticed positive effects and I had no side effects except for feeling a bit tired the first few weeks.

Hi
Slightly off-topic. But you should be fine starting again. It worked for Sertraline.
Can I ask if your medication is more effective than just an ssri like sertraline?
Anyone any experience with both?

@Bamboosockies Thank you so much for sharing this with me, it gives me hope that it will also work for me this time. :) I got really bad when I started up last time, so I hope it goes away quickly this time.

@Lizzbear thank you very much, I hope it works well this time too. I was a little scared when I read about someone who didn't find that it worked the second time. :)what I'm going to start with is an ssri?:)

Thanks Lena
An ssri Sertraline, acts only on increasing serotonin.
Escitalopram increases serotonin and norepinephrine. I think Escitalopram might be more effective. I might ask to switch to it if my Sertraline doesn't stop my anxious thoughts.
Was wondering if anyone had switched from an anti depressant to Escitalopram.

@Lizzbear oh, sorry, I didn't know that. :) they had a good effect on my anxiety and thoughts last time, so I would recommend them :)
