Citralopram

Hi, I am just starting initially a low dose of citalopram for anxiety around a specific theme of safety - walking and driving in the dark, travelling (planes/trains); irrational anxiety about my children being hurt, dying, lost; catastrophising. Has anyone else suffered like this and been helped by citalopram? Thanks

I have also just started 20mg Citalopram and would like to hear about others experiences.

@salsaaf @mamaxbear hey! Can I ask how your getting on and what your experiences were at the start? I started yesterday on 10mg of citalopram and feel a bit bit with it this morning so is making me more anxious.

@LWestYorks hey, I’m around 5 weeks into taking it and it’s worked so much better than sertraline I was previously on. I had nausea for the first week or so, felt a little off but I feel loads better now. Still have my down days, and I’m doing CBT alongside which I’ve just been referred for high intensity. Stick with it, they say it takes around 6 weeks to feel the full effects.

I have been on 10mg for 13 weeks first 8 weeks had bad side effects week 10-11 I felt great. Week 12-13 I feel terrible.
is this normal? Weird banging vibrating in my chest can’t catch my breath strange sensations like when you have had a massive scare. Super anxious.
