Tonight I was visited by my dead friend. She was clear as day to me and spoke in her voice. I know my CMHT would say it’s a hallucination so I probably won’t tell them but it was so, so real.

That’s a bit worrying @Scutterbug. Have you been taking your meds?

Yes I’m taking them all. It’s very strange. I feel a bit discombobulated now. I guess I just need to sleep and see what tomorrow brings.

Do you trust your MH team enough to mention it to them?

Well, yes, your brain conjured her up. It's reasonable to suppose that whatever she said to you is what your brain wanted you to hear. That may be helpful or not, depending on how your, presumably stressed-out, brain is at the moment.

Get some sleep Tomorrow you could try writing everything down about the vision, see if there's anything there to learn. This might give you a useful starting point to discuss with your team, perhaps more constructively than just dumping it on them. If it doesn't, it doesn't, no harm done.

My friend had a vision of an older lady sitting in her sofa. She kept calling everyone about it and finally crisis team or ambulance arrived. She kept chatting to this lady when they were there but nothing really happened. She has serious mental health problems but not anything specific diagnosed but her possible diagnosis varies from EUPD to schizophrenia. Anyway she continued as normal afterwards.

I had another vision this afternoon. I think I must be hallucinating. Trying not to panic about it all!

Can you contact NHS Direct option 2 and speak to the mental health team. They'll be able to advise you.

I am under the CMHT so could call the crisis team but experience means I know nothing will happen. I’m hoping things will settle and if they don’t I’ll contact my team on Monday.

OP the Crisis team are there for scenarios exactly like this. If you don't want to contact them, I gave you an alternative. However, it's your prerogative not to seek medical attention.

Ah thank you both. I’m definitely not unwell in the way I was earlier this year. I have capacity and can rationalise which I couldn’t then. I’ll call crisis in the morning any let them know I’ve had hallucinations and then they can put it on my notes.

So I left a message today for my team. I asked if I should increase my antipsychotic. They said they’ll discuss it. In the meantime I’ve “seen” a man sitting on my bed. My dead friend who spoke to me and said my life on this earth is over and I will die. Spiders running up and down the walls. A cat in the living room (we have a cat but not a black one!) . It’s disturbing but I can rationalise they are hallucinations so I don’t think I’m psychotic. It’s disturbing though.

OP you're experiencing psychosis. Just because you know they're hallucinations doesn't mean it's not psychosis.

ugh I hope not. I will chase them again tomorrow and tell them that I’m struggling.

Can you phone NHS Direct 111 + option 2 now please. That's the mental health team and they will advise you.

I dont think I need any immediate help. I have my husband here and he’s keeping an eye on me. I wonder if it’s dissociation as that was mentioned at one point. I’ll definitely chase things up with my team tomorrow though.

Well despite me requesting my CMHT contact me, I’ve still not heard from them. I do have a poor team though! Going to try to get them again tomorrow. Struggling a bit so I could do with the support.

That’s so bad @Scutterbug. They should be trying to help when you are reaching out to them rather than waiting for your MH to deteriorate further. Hope you get to speak to them tomorrow xx
