Ashwagandha to help anxiety?

Thinking of trying an Ashwagandha supplement after hearing (fell down a tik tok rabbit hole on it) that it could help with the anxiety I have and high stress levels.
Any positive experiences from it? Unsure of which brand/dosage to take.

@kshaw do you take it every day or when you feel the anxiety heightening? My body seems to be on a constant state of high alert. I cant relax

I find l-Theanine very effective for anxiety so you could have a look at that , I did try Ashwagandha but didn’t notice much difference .

Thanks @BrickOtter . I bought Ashwagandha today and it has L-theanine in it also. Hope it makes a difference

It is something you take daily. Think it said up to 4 a day but I took 2 and noticed a difference.

Definitely worth a shot I'd say - I have prescribed it in the past for clients (was a herbalist) who had anxiety and have given it to my eldest who suffers with anxiety and I think it has helped- and so do they.
do some research - have a look at the Pukka website, there is some info there on it.
British supplements does a good one (well I like it!)
you would take it regularly, not just when you feel you are anxious if that makes sense. Hope you find something that works for you - it's very individual!

It helped me but it also gives me indigestion and tummy aches so I had to stop.

I take Rheal - I the think it's called Balance Tonic. It does seem to do some good.

Thank you so much everyone 🙏

Didn’t really do anything for me.

I do think it helped me somewhat but if it did, the effect was very subtle. L-theanine is good, I give it to my adhd son and it really chills him out and helps him sleep.

I had suffered badly from postnatal anxiety years ago and it was beginning to start again in perimenopause, especially relating to work. I started taking Ashwagandha and within 2 weeks I felt like a different person! I've been taking it for a couple of years now.
