Tried to die

Just posting to get it off my chest. I had a meltdown and wanted to die. Didn't succeed and am now in a sort of limbo waiting for the next time.
Already on antidepressants but am also starting counselling.
I hate myself and my life. Does anyone else feel like this and can I get myself out of this black hole

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources: https://www.mumsnet.com/webguide/mental-health. You can also go to the Samaritans website: https://www.samaritans.org or email them on [email protected].

Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

We are going to move this thread to the Mental Health section shortly.

Do you want to talk about the meltdown? What else is going on for you? I just want to let you know that there are people here who hear you and want you to be ok.

Are you with anyone?

Undertherainbow00 · 10/10/2024 20:35

Poor mental health is awful and I’m so sorry you are suffering. Please know you are not alone. Life can be really tough sometimes and it may feel like you are alone in the pits of hell, but honestly it will get better. Has something triggered your depression? A problem shared, can sometimes be resolved with support - even strangers on the internet can be there for you. Sending you lots of love x x

Do you want to talk about it? You can also call the Samaritans or text SHOUT if you don’t want to talk to us. 111 option 2 also gives you MH support.
There are a few of us on the MH board who have been through feeling like that so you aren’t alone, sometimes knowing others have been there helps.
Do you have anyone with you this evening?

I have my mum, she is the reason I didn't go through with it last weekend. I feel I have achieved nothing and I have nothing to look forward to. Work is a shit show, I've been signed off but they only pay ssp so I can't stay off for more than a couple of weeks. I'm using my holidays for 2 weeks

Oh that’s frustrating because it sounds like you could do with more time off. Have you seen your GP? Are you on any medication?

Lovemycat21 · 11/10/2024 06:54

Yes I'm on antidepressants. My GP has signed me off for a month
