Has anyone found that escitalopram has worked where citalopram has not?

Just that really. DS has extreme anxiety. Citalopram didn't touch it (nor fluoxetine or sertraline). Not even at the higher doses. Psychiatrist is suggesting escitalopram as last try of SSRIs before moving onto a different family.

Has anyone moved to escitalopram and found it effective after not noticing a thing on citalopram? The only upside to it was that side effects were minimal.

Yes I started on citalopram hated it and it didn't work for me changed to escitalopram and it's saved my life. Amazing medication

Oh that's amazing news thank you @Differentstarts

I'm so glad it worked for you. What did you take it for if you don't mind me asking? Anxiety also?

I found escitalopram to be one of the most effective SSRIs and the one with fewest side effects.

Yes anxiety I was having multiple panic attacks a day and couldn't even leave the house. Iv been on it about 10 years I still have dips in my mental health but that's unfortunately just the reality of the disorder but nothing like it was and I don't have any side effects from them.

Yes, it worked far better for me with anxiety then citalopram did.

Yes. Citalopram did nothing for me. Escitalopram literally saved my life. So much more effective for me and has kept my mental health stable for the last 8 years.
