my dd lives in the uk. she is NOT familiar with any services. no family dr.

her partner is experiencing what i believe to be a mental health crisis. he's delusional and the violence is escalating.

who does she call please? preferably not the police (him and the children would find this very traumatic) but if that's the service i'll accept that and tell her.

She should call NHS, but I think they will send police as well as medical staff to this situation. I don't believe he will be charged for this in the circumstances, but the police will go along to keep everything safe

Mumdiva99 · 07/09/2024 04:54

Call 999. You can speak with police if your daughter/the children are at immediate risk.
Ambulance if it's more the delusions concerning her again at this point

If she is safe tonight but this is an ongoing situation he won't deal wotb or acknowledge she can call a women's aid charity for advice how to leave.

Notcopingbutstillstanding · 07/09/2024 04:57

She must ring the police immediately. If he's delusional and violent she's in real danger.
At the moment that's the only important thing.
My family member's partner had a similar episode and nearly killed her before the police arrived because thank god a neighbour rang them.

DolyKat · 07/09/2024 04:57

She needs to call 111 to get medical advice and help for him.

GildedRage · 07/09/2024 04:58

Her immigration status is complex, her visa and passport have been withheld x8 months now. Has zero rights to access services.

I'm sure they will come as it's an emergency situation

GildedRage · 07/09/2024 05:00

She herself can only use private healthcare, I doubt she knows NHS numbers.

You can always access emergency services.
She can call 999 which is the emergency line and get an ambulance sent.

GildedRage · 07/09/2024 05:02

Okay I have a few numbers to pass on. Most likely police best, doubt a medical triage would pick up on the delusion.

Mumdiva99 · 07/09/2024 18:46

@GildedRage how is it now? Is she safe? Please get her to call a domestic abuse charity too.... 0808 2000 247

GildedRage · 08/09/2024 00:26

@Mumdiva99 she's physically okay, still in the home, no one was called she was just too tired to deal with it.
Trigger Warning. EA details.
the name calling has recently ramped up, but he currently believes she is a prostitute and this belief is unshakable.
He texted me yesterday to tell me that it's a shame they can't go to couples counselling. the reason they will not be seen is because my dd slept with a therapist at an appointment that he was unable to attend. and he has veritable proof of this.
today's text. he found details of her post natal perineal repair (journal or shared computer file) which is shameful for the children to have access to and proves again she is an unfit mother.
