Sertraline + extreme tiredness + other strange side-effects.

I've been taking sertraline for 2 weeks now - starting taking it for insomnia and anxiety but am also feeling much happier now so I guess I was a bit depressed too. Anyway, I have gone from not being able to sleep to being really really tired - I just feel like I'm dragging my feet around and keep nodding off when I'm playing with the children. I asked the GP and he said it might pass or might not - very helpful. Does anyone else have experience of this?

Also other slightly weird side-effects are that I seem to have developed normal body temperature - i have always been a very hot person - wear sandals in the snow and go out without a coat in December. Since being on the sertraline I have been feeling cold when it's cold! it's so so strange - I've even started wearing pyjamas to bed after not wearing anything for years. (not wearing anything in bed that is rather than not wearing clothes all day every day).

I also find myself kind of clenching my jaw which is very strange.

Over all though I feel that the positive effects are worth it so I guess I'll have to get used to a life of pyjama wearing and jaw clenching!

Hey jenjeywoo,

I'm on day 4 of taking sertraline (for severe PMS/depression) & have been feeling really tired in the afternoon and evening as well & I'm yawning all the time in the afternoon.....but am still having trouble dropping off to sleep as I was before . I've also had rather annoying indigestion/heartburn and stomach cramps & a touch of the runs as well. I've noticed though that I have been feeling a little happier occasionally so I guess it's working.
