Hi again, I thought I’d start a new thread for this season of SAD 😭. It’s definitely starting to feel autumnal here 🥶.

It's been like that today here as well. It made me very sleepy.

@EmeraldRoulette thanks. Yes the SAD lamp has be brought out again and I'm back to max vitamin d. I know what you mean about making you sleepy; it just drains everything (energy, mood, will to do anything...)😫. Let's hope the crappy weather decides to bugger off so we can have some more sun and blue skies (it is June !)

@lyingonthebeach it’s meant to be summer now 😭😭 it feels like November! Thank god we go on holiday in 2 1/2 weeks, I can’t wait! I hate this stupid country 😭.

@Idratherbepaddleboarding yep. So grey and cold. Just rubbish! 🥵😡 You've inspired me. I might be able to take a week off soon so I'm looking at cheap breaks to the sun.

@lyingonthebeach do it! We can’t rely on the weather to provide our vitamin D 😭. We have one nice day today… typically I’m in the office 😭.

As we're now past the 21st June, anyone fancy starting an SAD 25/26 support thread?

I've always found this the most helpful place on MN for managing the seasonal depression.

When people get back from holidays of course!

I always think September is a good time to start a new thread, new (crappy) season, new thread! Plus it might attract new people who are starting to feel it 🙁.

Sounds good! I will look out for it (and lurk on this one). Trying to force myself into getting out as much as possible in the evenings atm.

After a lovely break in Portugal and the fantastic weather here, the cool grey today has dragged me down a bit.😥 I just need to say it

@lyingonthebeach we had torrential rain yesterday 😭.

@Idratherbepaddleboarding it's raining here now 😪 . But the forecast looks brighter for the coming days. It's amazing how the gloom and lack of blue-sky can still floor me even after a decent spell of sunshine

How’s everyone’s summer going? We’ve had a rollercoaster ride. Just before our holiday we lost our wonderful dog in a freak accident aged just 4. It was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me 💔. We went on our holiday to Mexico and it was lovely, even though we cried every day. It was nice to get some sunshine and distraction from everything that happened. Once we got back, we quickly realised that we couldn’t be without a dog and were offered a Labrador puppy, which we found ourselves instantly saying yes to! So now we’re puppy parents again to the most well behaved puppy I’ve ever met 🥰. he’s really helping us to heal.

I can definitely feel the nights drawing in and the mornings and evenings are starting to feel autumnal 😭. We’re due to be hit by this storm that’s coming too tomorrow.

@Idratherbepaddleboarding I'm sorry about your dig. But the lab puppy sounds adorable. I hope youcstorn was bearable. We have been lucky with weather this year but the odd grey days have knocked me. I am making the mist of the sun but have a slight sense of dread about the end of summer.

@lyingonthebeach thank you, losing our dog was the worst thing that’s ever happened to me but our puppy is helping us to heal and he’s the most perfect puppy ever to walk on this planet I think 🥰. He even came Paddleboarding on Saturday!

I’m definitely dreading the end of summer too, I actually like September, it’s usually nice as soon as the kids go back to school! But then it’s 6 months of shit. It was really hard to get up this morning, it was so cold, wet and windy and a sign of things to come 😭. Summer hair isn’t long enough!

@Idratherbepaddleboarding your puppy is so 😍 cute on the paddleboard.

It's lovely and bright here right now and good weather is forecast for the next few days. I'm going to absorb all the vitamin D and feelgood vibes that I can. I'll try and bank some for what's ahead. I hope you all have some sunshine too.

@lyingonthebeach thank you 🥰 he absolutely loved it. he was straight on the board before it even went on the water and he sat or lay beautifully. Every time we got off, he tried to get back on 😂. Billy was never a fan of the paddleboards as he preferred swimming which was fine but it’s nice to be able to take Rory out and I hope he continued to be so calm on them!

It’s raining here and forecast to be the same too Sunday 😭. It does seem to clear up on the afternoons though so fingers crossed 🤞. I never know what to wear at the moment!

Is there anything better than sitting in the garden on a sunny Sunday morning with a brew while everyone else is still asleep except me and the puppy? 🥰☀️☕️

Struggling with the heat

Hello 👋 I’ve had to set up a whole new account due to struggles with MN loading but here I am and I’m sure it’s obvious who I am 😂. Still looooving the sunshine ☀️ .

I’ve been reading up on a medication called Bupropion that’s used to treat SAD specifically but it’s not available in the UK without serious psychiatric intervention 😭. It sounds perfect for me!
