Hi all, I have my driving test friday, I'm so anxious, making silly mistakes, I feel breathless, I'm irritable and just generally terrified about doing it. I asked my driving instructor what he thought and he said to ask the my GP for a beta blocker as I'm not doing anything drastically wrong, I'm just working myself up. Has anyone had any experience of beta blockers and only using them for stressful occasions? Do they work? Thank you.

I use them when I have interviews or have to go to court. I find them brilliant, they stop me flushing and shaking and I don’t get so in my own head. I only take 10mg and it works well for me.

Thank you for your reply? Do they really work, do i need to take them in the run up to the the test or just on the actual morning. I'm having sleepless nights over it all, I'm enjoying driving but as soon as I get into my driving instructors car, I'm having a massive breakdown over the thought of it all. He said I'm a classic case of I can drive but I'm overthinking it all the time. 😭

You don’t need to take them in the run up. I take them an hour before the event. I don’t really suffer with nerves beforehand, just go to pieces during.
