My sister tried commiting suicide

Just had a phonecall off my dad. She is with my parents now… luckily my nephew found her.

Just wondering what we can do to get her the support she needs? 😭

First of all, is she safe? Will she try again if left alone?, depending on her method, does she need medical attention? If so, A&E is your best bet, also they normally have a mental health crisis team who can not only assess her there and then but provide referrals to longer term support services.

Does she have any previously known mental health conditions or self harm attempts or is this completely out of the blue?

Take her to A&E even if no physical injuries she needs urgent assessment.

I think the best thing is to take a deep breath and keep your mouth shut. Try and just get her talking. Poor thing. She isn’t going to need anyone’s opinions. She’s just going to need their attendance.
