I'm really struggling to get out of the worst pain I've been in for years and years. I'm having intrusive thoughts and have no one I can tell right now. I'm not in danger, but I am alone and feeling scared and can't see a way out.

I am sorry about what you’re going through. No doubt there’ll be someone along that can help you further.

Is there anyone you could rely on to help you take steps to getting some help? Do you feel capable of speaking to your GP?

Sending you hugs 🌸

Hello OP, we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.

We hope you don't mind, but when these threads are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our mental health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website or email them on [email protected].

Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek RL help and support as well.

Ipadannie · 16/08/2024 20:34

Do you want to share with us what's causing your pain?

Can you tell us more? What kind of thoughts?
Sending you love and strength.🩷

I'm here too OP. Can you take some deep breaths? Breathe in for the count of 4 and breathe out for the count of 8. Do this for a minute or two and then look around the room and start naming the things you can see. Bring yourself out of your head a little bit.

Lots of us have been where you are. Stay with us. We've got you.

Didn’t want to read and run. Hope you’re ok OP. My father isn’t in the best shape mental health wise and I do worry terribly. I think he feels so alone with his thoughts when he has SO many people who love and adore him so try to remember that you MATTER so much and there are people in this world who love you a ridiculous amount and would be lost without you.

There are so many mental health charities and phone lines nowadays. The Samaritans are supposed to be brilliant.

Like the above poster has said, we’ve got you, You’re not alone. Sending strength and hugs cx

You are never ever alone. Please, go out tomorrow and open yourself up. Go to a church, to a cafe, don't stay alone

SunQueen24 · 16/08/2024 21:22

Hey OP - have you done a self referral via vita minds?

Eggnogg90 · 16/08/2024 21:29

Hi OP, we’re all here with you. Would you like to share any more about what’s going on?

Nsky62 · 16/08/2024 21:52

These things are awful, feeling quite weak and achy from mid stage Parkinson’s, it’s come out of nowhere, a bad year 2024 ( 7 yrs in at 62).
A very bad week
Do what you practically can, I find distraction helps me, cry, scream or whatever you need, it’s unfair, unjust and crap!
Take care

Thank you everyone. I got help from a text service and eventually managed to tell my husband and my mum, who came over. I was totally dysregulated and haven't had that for years and years. Life is very very hard right now with multiple challenges coming thick and fast on top of each other and I guess I'm just getting to the edge of what I can cope with. I'm very tired and tearful today after four hours of crying last night.

Sorry you’re having a rough time OP. Sometimes it feels consuming doesn’t it?

eggplant16 · 17/08/2024 18:29

I am happy to listen.

Honeypot14 · 17/08/2024 22:18

We are all happy to listen. It really does help sometimes to use people as a soundboard and get it all out. A form of therapy if you like. Sending lots of love to you & well done for opening up to your family. I hope that’s eased the weight of things for you xx

eggplant16 · 18/08/2024 08:42
