Does your depression switch on and off?

Because mine does since dc. When I've been depressed before it seemed relentless until the AD's started to work. Now I'll have a bad few days or fortnight and suddenly for no reason I'm fine again. I don't know whether I was just so busy at work before I didn't notice. It's been over 2 years now. I take Ad's and I'm fed up of it. I feel maybe it's hormonal but the pattern isn't well enough defined.
Anyone else?

Definitely. In fact I've just come off the pill to see if the additional hormones were making it worse.

Will report back in a couple of months with my findings.

Thanks LilRedWG. I'm definitly sensitive to progesterone. My pregnancies were appalling.

Mine is on and off. I am much better since having a copper coil - I get very bad antenatal depression, and realised that the pill was making it worse too. Natural hormones only and I am more stable.

I haven't been back on ADs since having DD, but I do have a few days of hell every so often when I wonder if I am doing the right thing.

I'm similar to Flamey.
My general mood has lifted since being off hormonal contraception.
But then my depression has always followed a cycle/pattern so I am on a low dose permenantly now.
