Anxiety app recommendation - DARE

Hello, first time poster in here but I think with mental health it really does help to share experiences, so here's mine and I hope someone finds it useful!.

Two months ago, minding my own business watching telly in the evening, I had my first panic attack for about 20 years. No reason for it, it just happened. I thought I was dying. If you know, you know!.

To cut a long story short, things escalated , mental health declined, and I'm now on week 9 of Setraline and beta blockers. It's been a deeply upsetting and scary time as anyone who had been on this journey knows. I'm also having therapy.

One thing that has stopped me losing my mind and kept me hopeful has been the DARE anxiety app that you can download from Google play. I never imagined an app could be so helpful and just do enough sometimes to get you back down from climbing the walls. I've subscribed to the extra features on it as well.

I just wanted to share this info on here; the early weeks of Setraline are pretty terrible and anything that brings comfort is definitely worth having in my opinion.

Good luck everyone, and stay hopeful x

Thank you for this.
I'm going to look at it now . Glad it's helped you xxx

Thank you, I will take a look at this. I've had anxiety for years now. I am on fluoxetine, but last night and this morning I've had a series of very very bad panic attacks. I felt like I was dying. It's coming in waves, the last panic attack was at around midday. I am worried about tonight because worries can get worse at night.

Interesting first post promoting an app with paid content in it.

wildthingsinthenight · 05/08/2024 20:48

There is a lot that is free on there . Loads.
And it is already helping me this evening so I'm grateful for the recommendation.

The app is free to download and has a certain amount of free content on it which can be useful but I personally also pay for the extra content and in my opinion it's worth it. I've been using the dare app for over a year and at times it's been a god send, especially the audios to use for going on a plane etc really helped me get on my family holidays last yr and this year.

Yes sorry, I know what it looks like but honestly, I've no financial skin in the game! ..im just a bit evangelical about it I suppose because I cling on to it a bit to get me through the rougher times . It's only my first post in here as well after a lot of reading, I'm reasonably active elsewhere on other sections.

I'm glad a few more posters find it useful anyway.

I had a terrible night with a bed time panic attack, then high anxiety ( despite taking a diazapan) , and this app was my companion trying to reassure me everything was going to be OK.
